Producers do not approve, review, or influence editorial content before publication. Where we receive a press sample, hosted visit, or any form of hospitality from a producer, this is disclosed at the top of the relevant article or review. Editorial ratings are not influenced by commercial relationships.
All factual claims are checked against primary sources before publication. Vineyard statistics, award records, and winemaking information are sourced from WineGB, producer websites, and competition records. Where information is uncertain or disputed, we say so.
We correct errors promptly when they are brought to our attention. Corrections are noted at the top of the relevant article with the date of correction. We do not silently alter published content. Our vineyard ratings use a five-point scale. Scores above 4.5 indicate wines and experiences of genuinely exceptional quality by any international standard. Scores of 4.0–4.4 indicate excellence within the English wine category. Scores of 3.5–3.9 indicate good quality with some limitations. Scores below 3.5 indicate estates we would not actively recommend for visits or wine purchases.
